Job Description
Who We're Looking For:
We are looking for highly talented software development engineers who are passionate not only about architecting and developing large-scale distributed technology solutions but also innovating and providing directions to our business in the domain of imports and exports logistics. We have many key initiatives lined up to support our rapid evolution and growth of the cross-border transportation network by solving some of the most challenging problems in this domain.

Who Are We?
We are passionate engineers interested in simplifying complex problems and focusing on improving the customer experience for sellers, buyers, and operations. Amazon's Global Logistics Technology team is tasked with building solutions for the international movement of shipments. These shipments can originate from anywhere, cross international borders, and be delivered to different parts of the planet. There are various ways to import shipments from vendors/sellers to our warehouses and export packages from one country to another through several intermediate locations, ultimately delivering them to our international customers. With millions of packages, each having different attributes, delivery requirements, and international commerce and customs considerations, we deal with a complex network of source, intermediate, and destination nodes. These paths cross international borders and are associated with different costs and transit times. Our primary focus is to account for these constraints, maximize shipments, minimize costs, provide various delivery options, and maximize delivery performance. To achieve this, we must build highly available and scalable distributed systems to handle every package traveling internationally.

Why You'll Love It:
- Our systems touch every package that travels internationally, requiring highly available and scalable distributed systems
- Focus on developing the best through weekly learning series and mentoring
- Opportunities to participate in hackathons and team events

Key job responsibilities
- Architect and develop large-scale distributed technology solutions
- Innovate and provide direction in the domain of imports and exports logistics
- Support the rapid evolution and growth of the cross-border transportation network by solving challenging problems

A day in the life
- Author and review designs for new systems
- Participate in launching Global Logistics business programs
- Collaborate with teams that rely on document management capabilities
- Ensure our services are highly available and operational
