Job Description

This position works closely with the VP IT finance on coordinating the following between IT and Financial Management\:


o   Partnership on the strategic IT plan


o   Financial analysis and management reporting


o   Long-Range expense target setting


o   Annual operating budget


o   Monthly global estimate process


o   Internal Control Over Financial Reporting (including SOX monitoring and reporting)


o   Development of key service performance metrics and allocations methodologies


o   Financial rigor over business case / ROI supporting IT initiatives


o    Operational Excellence


·       Partner with the VP IT Finance in developing the framework of the strategic plan for IT, with emphasis on the return on investment and value contribution of IT investments and services.


·       Lead and develop global IT cost center spending budgets and estimates with leadership teams.  Review and provide explanation of variant spending and productivity on a regular basis.   Provide counsel to leadership teams on project accounting and funding as needed.


·       Oversee monthly financial close process, ensure consistency of inciteful and impactful IT financial reporting, and approve the monthly global financials for IT (accruals, actual spending verification, balance sheet positions for prepaid, assets, liabilities). 


·       Work with key external IT support providers including Cloud Computing, Software as a Service, Infrastructure as a Service and other Outsourced IT Service providers to manage financial process and optimize value.


·       Responsible for Internal Control over Financial Reporting – Partner with the Technology Governance and Regulatory, and Compliance teams,  Internal Audit, and the Controls & Compliance COE,  to ensure a proper governance structure is in place.  This includes (a) ensuring a well-controlled Internal Controls environment, (b) managing and monitoring SOX compliance and reporting, (c) following up on remediation of Internal Audit findings,  (d) creating a sustainable model in IT to implement and monitor the Controls Workstream processes, and (e) providing ongoing training of IT controls owners


·       Lead and develop performance metric reporting; provide advice, counsel and support on allocation methodologies for all functions to ensure cost center spending is appropriately charged to legal entities, brands, regions, channels, segments and affiliates in accordance with corporate guidelines for profitability analysis and statutory reporting.


·       Work with Indirect Procurement, One Source,  and the IT Vendor Mgmt. Office to drive procurement, contract and payment processing efficiencies.


·       Communicate issues for consultation/disclosure to finance, tax and investor relations teams. 


·       In conjunction with the global Finance Organization, financial and IT management, develop framework for evaluating IT spending and socialize the approach with impacted parties.  This includes taking a leadership role in educating and influencing stakeholders on the adoption of new disciplines and procedures.


·       Manage the day to day activities of the services provided by One Source, Genpact, the ELC Buying Center and other third parties providing support to the IT Finance Organization


·       Directly Support the Global Supply Chain IT Leadership team on all financial matters which includes\: (a) reviewing and approving all GSC IT cost estimates, forecasts, and PO requests; (b) partnering with the GSC IT team on managing Employee and Contractor Utilization; (c) Partnering with the GSC Finance team to ensure that GSC funded projects with IT support are managed collaboratively;  and (d) providing decision support and proactive recomanadations regarding the operations of this area


·     10+ years’ experience in IT finance, including project prioritization (business case assessment), portfolio management and project finance (Experience in cosmetics and/or consumer goods preferred)


·     Strong working knowledge of Cloud Computing, Software as a Service, Infrastructure as a service and other IT Services and related contracts, accounting rules and cost modeling 


·     Experience with Hardware and Software purchases and related maintenance agreements


·     Exceptional financial forecasting, analytical and problem-solving skills, strategic thinking, and business advisory skills.  


·     Strong leadership and interpersonal skills including ability to build relationships globally


·     Ability to work in a dynamic, global and matrix environment.


·     Ability to manage resources across multiple geographies


U.S Corporate/Office Exempt Roles (Equity Eligible)
The anticipated base salary range for this position is $149,500 to $257,00. Exact salary depends on several
factors such as experience, skills, education, and budget. Salary range may vary based on
geographic location. In addition to base salary, this position is eligible for participation in a
highly competitive bonus program with possibility for overachievement based on performance
and company results as well as participation in the share incentive plan.
