Summary:
The Director of International Business Development is a key leadership position responsible for driving Baylor Genetics' expansion into global markets. This role requires a strategic visionary who can identify and capitalize on international opportunities, fostering relationships with key stakeholders, clients, and partners across diverse regions. The Director will conduct thorough market research, analyze industry trends, and develop comprehensive strategies to penetrate new markets and enhance BG’s global footprint. Objectives:

Responsibilities:
Strategic Planning and Analysis:
- Market Research: Conduct detailed market research to identify potential new markets, assess demand, and understand the competitive landscape.
- Industry Analysis: Analyze global industry trends and competitor activities to inform strategic planning and identify opportunities and threats.
- Strategic Planning: Develop, refine, and implement a comprehensive international business development plan that aligns with BG’s overall strategic goals.
- Forecasting: Create accurate forecasts and set performance metrics to measure the success of international business initiatives.
Relationship Building and Partnerships:
- Client Relationships: Build and maintain strong relationships with potential and existing international clients, understanding their needs and ensuring BG's offerings meet them.
- Partnership Development: Identify, negotiate, and finalize strategic partnerships to enhance BG’s market presence and drive growth.
- Contract Negotiation: Lead negotiations to secure contracts and deals that benefit BG, ensuring favorable terms and conditions.
- Stakeholder Engagement: Engage with key stakeholders, including government bodies and industry associations, to facilitate business operations and expand BG’s network.
Operational Excellence and Communication:
- Compliance: Stay up-to-date on international trade regulations and legal requirements to ensure all business activities are compliant.
- Reporting: Prepare and present comprehensive reports on market research, strategic initiatives, and performance metrics to senior management and stakeholders.
- Internal Collaboration: Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including marketing, legal, and operations, to ensure cohesive and effective implementation of international strategies.
- SOP Development: Review, update, and develop Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) to streamline international business processes and ensure consistency.
Leadership and Team Management:
- Leadership: Provide visionary leadership to the international business development team, setting clear goals and expectations.
- Team Development: Mentor and develop team members, fostering a culture of high performance and continuous improvement.
- Project Management: Oversee and manage international projects, ensuring they are completed on time, within budget, and meet quality standards.
- Cultural Sensitivity: Demonstrate cultural sensitivity and adaptability in all international interactions and business dealings.
Business Development and Growth:
- Revenue Targets: Set and achieve revenue targets for international markets.
- Product Adaptation: Work with product development teams to adapt BG’s offerings to meet international markets' specific needs and preferences.
- Sales Strategies: Develop and implement effective sales strategies to penetrate new markets and drive sales growth.
- Market Entry: Plan and execute market entry strategies, including identifying and working with local distributors, agents, and partners.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree required; MBA preferred.
- Proven track record of success in business development, sales, or international relations, specifically in growing international markets.
- Ability to travel overseas.
- Fluency in multiple languages is a plus.
